For a number of years I have been having good luck with Spybot's Search and Destory spyware program. Sure, there are many great programs out there, some you pay for, to keep your computer clean of spyware, but Spybot's S&D program has a proven Award Winning track record. It's been keeping spyware in check on millions of computers around the world for about 8 or 9 years. One feature I like is its ability to block about 100,000 bad websites. It is called "Immunize" on their menu. And it's Freeware!
