This is my favorite topic of conversation. I have studied the CW in general for many years but just recently have focused on the Trans-Mississippi.
I have dozens of ancestors who fought for the South and a few who fought for the North.
Anyone else here have knowledge of their ancestors who fought?

I grew up 2.5 miles south of the Caving Banks battle site but had never visited the site until 2 years ago. I know, I'm BAD!! It occured just north of 86th St N and Delaware ave, SE of Sperry. This battle was a continuation of the fight between the north sympathizing Creeks and the confederate army out of Texas. It started at the battle of Round Mountain (west of Tulsa), then Caving Banks and ended at Hominy Falls west of Skiatook.
My Wilsons (great grandfather and two of his brothers that died in the war) all fought on the side of the North (4th PA Calvary). My wifes family (Dobbs) all fought on the Souths side.
