Can anybody tell me where would be a good place to get the history of Ft. Sill? My husband was stationed there in the early 1950's; my brother in the 1960's until the 1980's; my son-in-law from the 1970's until the 1990's; and two of grand-sons-in-law.
I have visited the fort, but would like to know more of its history. Like back when the Indians from the north were taken there. And, about when Geronimo was in prison there.
Thank you for any help you can send my way; or where I can find it.

Last time I was at the Ft. Sill Museum, they had a fair amount of information on the above subjects. You can also tour the old house where the jail was, and still is. It is extremely interesting to see the history, cell and all. You might try these: sill-www.army.mil/sill-www.army.mil/museum/home%20page.htm

Best source of history of the Fort would be the book "Carbine and Lance: The Story of Old Fort Sill" by Wilbur Sturtevant Nye
